A NIGHT OF IDEAS with acclaimed US sportswriter Dave Zirin, David Goldblatt author of the football book of the year, Sanaa Qureshi of Football Beyond Borders, and football writers from Germany. A NIGHT OF COMEDY from Simon Munnery and Kate Smurthwaite. A NIGHT OF MUSIC with Grace Petrie and her band, Benefits Culture. Folk legends Finlay Allison and JImmy Ross play a specially commisioned set of 1914-8 songs of peace and resistance, titled Its Never Over by Christmas.

A Seminar organised in conjunction with Soundings to discuss the social and cultural importance of sport and the place it can play in remaking a radical, popular politics. Opened by Dave Zirin, who will be joined by a panel that includes: Tony Collins, author of Sport In Capitalist Society, Heather Wakefield, Head of Local Government at Unison, Nick Davidson, author of Pirates, Punks, Politics and Michelle Moore, an activist promoting equality in sport.
